At the election, voters elected 335 new MPs who have never been in Parliament before, that’s more than half of MPs who don’t know about the work we do campaigning for change.

In the new Parliament we’ll be campaigning to improve neonatal services including in our five priority areas: staffing, equalities, overnight stays, finances and employment.

Congratulations on your election to Parliament. As your constituent, I wanted to write to tell you about the 1 in 7 babies born premature or sick in the UK, who are cared for in neonatal care.

During the last Parliament, MPs like you delivered transformative change for babies, including a new parental leave entitlement to help parents be with their sick babies in hospital, but there’s lots more to do.

The care a baby receives in their first days, weeks, or months within neonatal services impacts their chance of survival and quality of life long-term. Neonatal care in the UK is constantly advancing, but resources and facilities have not always kept pace with advances in practice.

Over the next five years, will you campaign to deliver the neonatal services of the future, that we need to ensure every baby born premature or sick in the UK has the best chance of survival and quality of life?

I would like to see you commit to five priorities:
1.	Create a neonatal workforce of the future
2.	Address inequalities to give every baby the best chance in life
3.	Support parents to stay at their baby’s side
4.	Help families overcome the financial barriers to being involved in care
5.	Provide equal employment support
